We lost this beautiful filly due to a disease called " Fatty Liver". There are a lot of horses out there today that
indeed do have Ulcers and people don't know it. It is important to catch this disease early. This filly had a hard time chewing
and extra saliva.The vet took blood and put her on 2 kinds of antibiotics because they first thought she might have an
infection in her gums because of the way she chewed and then the bad odour coming from her breath. Three days went by and
no change she just got worse. I took her to the clinic and put her on IV and antibiotics and then they discovered she had
ulcers and had to stay for 3 days. We came home with different meds and she had to take mineral oil. She still didn't eat
much after another 3 or 4 days she still was no better and I thought she was going to die. We took her back to the clinic
for more IVs and more Blood tests and they discovered this time that her liver was failing because of the ulcers, they were
extremely severe.
This beautiful filly meant alot to me and my heart aches for her. If only we would of known about this disease she might
be here today. That is my reason for this page so that if your horse has these symptoms get them looked at before it's too
late.
